FAQ

Will I have to pay for my care?

Each person’s care package is individually designed around their own specific needs. The cost of care can vary depending on your requirements and whether you qualify for financial support or not. This is decided by social services. For more information on funding arrangements visit www.direct.gov.uk.

Will I get the same carer every day?

We believe that the continuity of staff is vital to our clients. That is why we initially send in a small team of two or three members-of-staff to get to know your daily routine. This will mean that you will still see someone you are familiar with, even when one of your regular carers is on holiday or ill.

I can’t get to the door to let the carer in, will they still visit?

Yes. We would recommend that a key safe is fitted discretely to the outside of your property. This allows only the people you have given the combination to, to access your home.

Many hardware stores sell key safes, or contact your local branch of Age UK for further advice.

How do I start the process of getting help?

If you have already been in contact with your local Social Services they will have advised you about the financial support that may be available to you.

If you qualify for financial support, they may well have discussed direct payment. This is when, instead of the Council providing the service direct, you are given control of your care budget and will be able to choose which provider you would like.

Whether you qualify for financial support or not, you can contact our offices and discuss your needs with a member of our team. We will be happy to offer advice and support about your care requirements, discuss any costs involved, and arrange for a member of the management team to visit you at home to discuss your individual care plan, with no obligation.
